Gweru — The Midlands Agricultural Show is set to celebrate a remarkable 100 years of agricultural development and excellence from 14 to 18 August 2025, with a vibrant programme that blends business, innovation, entertainment, and tradition.
Running under the theme “Climate Change Resilience and Smart Sustainable Futures,” this year’s edition reflects a strong commitment to sustainable agriculture and the integration of modern technologies in the sector.
The show’s Guest of Honour will be Dr. Anxious Masuka, the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development. He is expected to deliver the keynote address during the official opening ceremony on Saturday, where he will highlight government initiatives in climate-smart farming and rural transformation.
So far, 112 exhibitors have confirmed their participation, with the show targeting 160 exhibitors in total. Among the new entrants this year are Gweru City Park, Dreamnet, Granite Link, City Hardware, Oak Fertilizers, and the National Archives of Zimbabwe, a sign of growing diversity and interest in the event.
Show Week Highlights are as follows:
Thursday (14 August): Final layout and exhibitor setup
Friday (15 August): A Business Conference will be held at Village Lodge from 9 AM to 1 PM, followed by an Evening Reception for exhibitors to relax and network
Saturday (16 August): Official Opening Ceremony led by Dr. Masuka
Sunday (17 August): High-energy burnout showcase featuring popular musician Master H
To add excitement to the celebrations, Zimdancehall star Freeman HKD will headline the entertainment lineup, supported by several emerging artists, ensuring a lively atmosphere throughout the week.
According to Midlands Show Society Chairperson Augustine Mupakurirwa, the 100th edition of the show is not just a celebration of history, but a platform to drive future-facing conversations in agriculture.
“The show has come a long way, and this year is both a celebration and a transformation. We’re calling on farmers, innovators, businesses, and the youth to be part of this historic moment,” he said.
Since its inception in 1925, the Midlands Agricultural Show has grown into a flagship event on Zimbabwe’s provincial calendar promoting agricultural excellence, entrepreneurship, and resilience in the face of climate change.
